Seven Siblings

I have felt like an outsider all my life. I suspect that the nagging feeling of not belonging comes from being the youngest child in a family of seven. We lived under the same roof, but grew up to be profoundly different individuals. This project explores impressions of my relationship with my siblings, and how well I know these individuals who share my bloodline despite having vastly different experiences in their lives. With a series of images from each of my siblings, I have drawn a portrait of their unique characters through the use of ICM (aka Intentional Camera Movement). This approach visualizes the unseen and leaves space for the viewer's interpretation to complete the story in their minds.
