In November 2025 I travelled to Antarctica and asked my assistant, graphic designer and illustrator Laura Haapamäki to paint some canvases while I am away. We had agreed to try to make a joint venture, one starting and the other continuing the painting. This way of working is very interesting but also a bit scary. When one person makes an initiative, it is scary to paint something, let alone everything over. Laura had made a beautiful geometric orange-brown surface with strong lines on the canvas. I struggled a lot at first, but when letting go I just took a sponge, covered almost everything and created two large red areas. Studying them more I spotted poppies! The geometric lines by Laura haunt in the background.
