I participated in a painting course in fall 2024. It was 3 months long and one of the assignments was a journal painting which was to last all 3 months. The task was to paint a little bit, even one mark every day on the same large canvas. We had to keep going for the whole time even if you felt that the painting was ready or parts of it were done. About 1,5 months through, the girl appeared and then a couple of weeks later the raven. I had to start to do minor adjustments after that. The learning was that do not get too attached to anything you had and boldly, freely paint over and look for new discoveries.
